State Strategies to Support Summer Learning: Out-of-School Time Monthly Stakeholder Convenings

We’ll learn about a new collaboration between the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) and National Summer Learning Association (NSLA). This partnership is focused on assisting state education agencies and partners in using data for more impactful summer programs, advancing summer program quality, promoting exemplars of summer learning practices, and identifying and disseminating model policies and regulatory conditions that create equitable conditions for every student to succeed. This effort is aligned and coordinated with the U.S. Department of Education’s Summer Learning and Enrichment Collaborative recently launched under Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona.

Speakers: Kathleen Airhart, program director at CCSSO; Laura Johnson, vice president of communications, National Summer Learning Association;  Katie Landes, director, Georgia Statewide Afterschool Network; Abel McDaniels, special assistant, Office of Elementary and Secondary Education at the U.S. Department of Education; and Malbert Smith, president & cofounder, MetaMetrics. The conversation will be moderated by Polly Singh from The Wallace Foundation.

This CCSSO/NSLA partnership is funded by The Wallace Foundation and MetaMetrics over the next two years.
