The Burnham Plan
The Burnham Plan is a popular name for the 1909 Plan of Chicago, co-authored by prominent architects and urban planners Daniel Burnham and Edward H. Bennett.
In the plan Burnham admonished all to make no small plans, even in challenging times.
The Burnham Plan helped transform metropolitan Chicago and set the stage for the next 100 years. It was also a major influence on shaping the new field of city planning.

Getting There
From Chicago O'Hare Airport, convenient public transportation, shuttles and taxis provide fast and economic transportation to the Westin Michigan Avenue Chicago.
A taxi is about $40 one-way and takes 35-40 minutes with direct service to the hotel. A Continental Airport Express shuttle, which costs $28 per person or $40 for two people one-way, is approximately 45 minutes to the hotel. The taxis and the shuttle can be found just outside the baggage claim terminal.
The Chicago Transit Authority runs a 24 hour service – the Blue Line – from the airport to downtown Chicago. Journey time downtown is around 45 minutes and is approximately $1.50. Trains run every ten minutes during the day. From Terminal 1, 2 and 3 Arrival areas, follow the signs to the CTA station which is located on the lowest level of the Parking Garage in the main terminal area. Passengers at Terminal 5 take the ATS transfer train to Terminal 3. Take the blue Line towards Forest Park and exit from the Chicago stop. Exit from the east entrance and walk five minutes to the hotel.
