Welcome Beverly Ross Denny to the Grantmakers for Education Team

Beverly Ross Denny, Managing DirectorGrantmakers for Education (GFE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Beverly Ross Denny as managing director. Beverly brings to GFE over 20 years of private and public sector experience in the areas of finance and general operations (including information technology and human resources), strategic planning, sales and marketing.

Beverly began her career in management consulting where she advised clients in the areas of business process redesign, change management and human resources management.  After attending Harvard Business School, she transitioned into the field of marketing where she worked for both Microsoft Corporation and Heinz North America. While she enjoyed her work, she found her out-of-work volunteer time in public education better aligned with her career aspirations and decided to transition into K-12 education reform through the Broad Residency in Urban Education with the Boston Public Schools.

Over the last fourteen years, Beverly dedicated her professional career to K-12 education reform.  She amassed experience working in a district teaching and learning and human resources departments as well as student support and adult professional development.  Some of her accomplishments include:

  • Leading a district-wide team to develop a plan to increase student college completion rates by expanding and improving the Advanced Placement program.
  • Leading a district human resources department through a multi-year strategic planning effort resulting in the implementation of the first major succession planning initiative for over one-hundred central office operations employees and introducing the district’s first teacher dual licensure program in English as a Second Language.
  • Launching several new adult professional development experiences for a private professional services organization.
  • Doubling the number of program sites implementing a nationally recognized student support program.
  • Managed a $5 million budget for a professional services organization.
  • Led annual reconciliation of a $15 million endowment.

In addition to her MBA, Beverly holds a bachelor of science in economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. She and her husband Greg live in Milton, Massachusetts, with their two sons Kyle and Ryan, and daughter Kyra.
